Disneyland was CRAZY! We went on a Monday thinking it wouldn't be as bad as some of the other days, but oh no. It was the most crowded I'd ever seen that place! In Adventureland, you couldn't walk because people were going every direction with strollers and little kids. The lines were crazy long and it was so hot. I think all of this put together made all the adults at the park go crazy. People were pushing and butting in line, arguing, irritating! Yes, we did get into a couple of arguments with people after we couldn't stand people being so rude and impatient. Some people (3 different groups) put their kids, or tried to put their kids right in front of our kids at the Jedi Training show. We had been there for a half an hour in the hot sun waiting. Our boys were sitting in the second row back and were giving the people in front of them some space. Well people saw the opening and told their kids to go sit there. Jeff was mad mad! He let it go with the first few and then he got mad at the last lady. I was proud of him, but it did no good. The little butters were picked to go up and my boys didn't. Oh well. Jeff and I took advantage of our height and were rude in return by blocking the views of people behind us. Nice, I know. But after trying to be accommodating most of the day to other people and making sure we weren't in their way or our boys weren't bugging them, we had had enough. I think we will plan Disney vacations in January from now on.
We did have some fun the first day, and Indiana Jones was the highlight by far. Max wanted an Indiana Jones hat so badly, but there were very expensive, so we got both boys these dress up Indiana Jones costumes. Max hasn't stopped singing the Indiana Jones song for two weeks now and unfortunately he has gotten very good with the whip :(. This video was taken while Max and I waited for Jeff and Boston to finish Thunder Mountain. (Max doesn't really like fast rides yet.)
I had the Indiana music on my phone and held it up to the camera so Max had something to coordinate his magic too.
The line for this rapids in California Adventure was 90 min., but as they were going in line, the cast member there handed them 'single rider' passes which take them to the front of the line. I was a little nervous about Boston going alone, but thought Jeff knew what he was doing. Jeff told me that when they got to the front, it finally sunk into Boston that he had to go by himself and he didn't want to do that. So Jeff handed the passes back and the lady was nice and let them go on together anyway!
We went on the new Woody ride 2 times and stood in line for more than an hour each time. But Max loved it and it really was quite fun. You play five different carnival games in 3D . Your gun shoots darts, rings, balls, and paint balls. It was pretty fun with the sounds and effects you get when you hit stuff. By the way, my score was 118, 600, so good luck beating that!
We got a two day park hopper pass. The first day of Disney was not so fun, California Adventure was great! It wasn't nearly as crowded and Boston loved all the fast rides. His favorite was California Screaming-Jeff and I had to take turns on that. We are just getting too old I think.
All in all this was a fabulous trip and thanks to our friends the Hartley's for inviting us to go with them-We had a great time!
