Family Night at the Temple

We visited the Draper Temple Open House tonight and had a great experience as a family.  It was beautiful and I'm so glad my boys got to walk through it.  They were both awesome and very reverent.  

The Celestial Room was Max's favorite room.  Before we got in there the line had slowed down and it was moving really slow.  As we moved up on the door to the Celestial Room, Max saw that amazing chandelier and said "WOOOOoowww!  That is sooo beautiful!"  Then a minute later he asked, "Why does Jesus get all the pretty things?" 

This was Boston's favorite part.  The Baptismal Font was a little different that other ones I've seen.  As you come into a chapel, there is a glass wall that looks straight into the font room.  It was kind of interesting.

When we got home tonight, Boston said he wishes he could have gotten his swimsuit on and gotten in.  

Another cool part was the Sealing Rooms.  They let you sit in there for as long as you would like and it was neat to show the boys the mirrors.   If you look into the mirrors you can see Forever and Ever!

I hope they will remember this for a long time and that it can be something that will help build their little testimonies.

Saturday Snow Fun

For Valentines Day we got the Family together and made snow forts for a snowball fight at grandma's house.  Little did I know of the architectural prowess of a certain uncle.  It was like he was an Eskimo or something.  We built Max and Maleah an igloo and Boston and Payton built their own snow fortress.

Boston and Payton worked really hard on their fort and even had a great idea to spray paint it.

And as any parent should know, something is always going on when things get quiet.....

They ended up tagging Grandpa's wall.  We stopped them before Boston got the rest of his name on.  Everyone thought grandpa was going to freak out, but he handled it really well and it ended up being a great teaching experience for the boys.  So hopefully this keeps them out of juvenile hall later in life.

The Finished IGLOO!  By this time though, everyone was too cold for a snowball fight and we went inside for hot chocolate and movies.  

CLEAN YOUR ROOM!!!

Everyday we clean it. Every morning it looks like this.  

This is my boys staying in their room until its clean.  Aren't they hard workers?

Max IS FIVE!!!!

My Baby is now 5 years old!  I can't even believe it!  What a sweet boy he is and we are so glad he is a part of our family.

We had a great day that started at preschool with a poster all about him and ice cream cone cupcakes. 

We decided not to have friend parties this year and I guess I didn't explain it well because at preschool I heard Max tell the kids "I'm not having a friend party, and I don't know why?"  I laughed, and told them all about the fun we were going to have instead.  I don't think I've scarred him for life, I hope.

Max wrote on his poster that he wanted to be Jengo Fett when he grows up.  His favorite color is blue.  His favorite food is turkey sandwiches and apples and bananas.  He has lots of friends.   His pet is Dixon. 

After Preschool we met up with Grandma Deb and went to lunch at Carl's Jr. and then made a trip to Toys r us  where they made a big deal about him being 5.   

The best was his party at Classic Skating.  He got lots of good things and they ran and ran.

Dancing with the Stars-or just the Taylors

For Christmas this year my Mom and Dad gave us a dinner and dancing date with all the adults.  I will admit that I was excited for the dinner part, but a little worried about the dancing part.  I have NO RHYTHM and Jeff is a good dancer, so I was worried that we would end up fighting about who was leading who and who was on who's feet.   I  have to say, though, I was pleasantly surprised when we got there and got going.  The lady spent the first half hour teaching the swing.  It was great fun and it was pretty crowded too!  There were probably 40 couples there at least.

So we learned the swing and then tried to copy people doing the waltz.  It was crazy fun and Jeff and I laughed and laughed and just had a great time.

My Little Ski Bumbs

I had no idea that kids under 6 ski free, so why hadn't I done this earlier?  One of our neighbors use to teach ski lessons and invited a bunch of neighbor kids up to learn to ski.  Both boys were super excited to get going.

Max tried really hard and did a good job-but how can you have a good first skiing experience when your pants are too tight?  Yup, his parents are cheap-I've learned my lesson.

Boston was ready to go from the start.  He told me he knew how to do it and didn't need help.  I asked him how he was going to stop and of course he told me that you just fall down.  Well, right!  I guess thats usually how I do it too.

Here are the kids learning the difference between "pizza" and "french fries".  As soon as this was over, Boston popped up and said-"Got it-lets go"  and off he went.  

Max was a little competitive and wanted to head up on the lift to do the real hill.  He refused to do the little hill we were practicing on.  So we were done.  Jeff's going to have to work on this one.

I couldn't believe it!  He came zooming down the hill doing great!   (That's him to the left of the orange flag)  He was coming so fast I just kept yelling "Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!"  He was great though and finished top of his class.  We're so proud!

Basketball Boston

Boston is in his first year of Jr. Jazz and LOVING IT!  Which is such a relief for us because I signed him up without asking him and he was not happy about it.

Since he's started, he's been to Jazz games and to the BYU/ Utah Game and thought it was 'awesome'!  He told his coach at his last game that he wishes he could play this everyday!

This is one of Boston's baskets he made and the celebration afterwards.  It doesn't matter who scores on his team, he does this same double fist pump in the air for everyone.

We are so proud of Boston and its been a blast to watch him grow and begin to love the game!
