Trick or Treat Warning

My boys LOVE Halloween!  And about one month ago they started looking for costumes online to find the one that they wanted.  Max wanted to be Indiana Jones and Boston wanted to be Boba Fett from Star Wars.  I ordered their costumes early because I figured they would get a lot of use out of them between now and halloween.  Well yesterday they came in the mail.   They were so excited that they have been running around all over in them.  They came in last night with a bunch of candy and were just beaming!  I asked where they got their candy and you guessed it...Trick of Treating.  They decided to celebrate early with our cul-de-sac neighbors.  Good thing they were all prepared.  So watch out, you'd better be ready!

Lunch Date with My Boys!

Boston told me that a lot of kids have their moms or dads come and eat lunch with them, so I decided to try it out.  I always liked school lunch so why not.  Max was really excited to go and kept asking if it was time to go to lunch.

Its so much different now than it was back then.  I remember getting my tray and going down the line with student volunteers dishing up the food.  There was only one choice and recess was after you ate.  Now, its a buffet style, where the kids get to choose from three different entrees and a bunch of side stuff like fruit and veggies.    They also eat on Styrofoam plates with plastic utinsels.  It was a little weird.  But I have to give the lunch lady credit.  She had those kids behaving so well.  So well in fact, I had to convince a little friend of Boston's that it was okay to take a picture for us.  He was worried that he would get in trouble, but I told him I'd take the heat.

It was also pretty neat to see quite a few moms there eating with their kids.  My visiting teaching partner was there and so was another neighbor, both eating with their kids.  It was also fun to see the kids from our ward.  Until recently I have been in the primary for  2 1/2 years and really got to know the kids-I even got a hug from one of my kids right there in the lunch room.  It was great!

It was so fun to have lunch together and share part of the day.  Max and I have really missed Boston since he started first grade.  So I think that this might become a regular event!

And here we go!  My baby is now on the path to be educated.  That leaves me with too much time on my hands.   What to do now.....

First In-First Out

Boston lost his first tooth today.  We have been waiting for this for weeks!  This itty bitty tooth has been loose for so long, that the adult tooth coming up has already come up behind it.  The tooth that came out was also his first tooth to come in....aahhh.

After carrying his tooth around all day and showing everyone we came upon, he set it on the fireplace and lost it.  It was quite sad for all of us.  But, no worries, I told him the tooth fairy can find any tooth and she'll still come.  We decided it would be best to write a note explaining what happened.  Here it is...

This is the Tooth Fairy's response.  She left a little tiny note-because she is tiny of course-with one whole dollar!  She said that she couldn't find the tooth, but she looked and saw he was missing one and that still counts.  She also told him to keep brushing and she'll see him next time!
