What a week!

Today has been a pretty emotional day for me and I didn't really expect it to be. I got up early and ran ten miles and came home with the intention of showering and lying down. But as I turned on the TV, coverage of President Hinckley's funeral was on. I watched the coverage before the funeral, the funeral, and everything after. I was so touched by this wonderful man's life and the incredible person he was. His life is a testimony to me of the truthfulness of the gospel and an example of how I should live my life-happy, optimistic and in the service of others. God bless him for his service.

Another reason I've been emotional is because of one very special little boy who is the nephew of one of my friends. Last Sunday he was taken to Primary Children's hospital with a form of meningitis. His family has been posting updates on a blog for him so friends and family know what progress is being made. This blog has been my number one visited site all week-I think I cry everytime I read it. I am amazed at how people have come together to support this beautiful family in their trial. People from all over the world, who don't even know them, are sending their prayers and best wishes. The thoughts expressed by so many are beautiful and touching.

To add to the stress, this family is in the middle of building a house and all the pressures that go along with it. To help relieve the presure, the extended family and friends gathered together to complete a large portion of the house. From the video thats posted on the blog, I could feel the spirit of that family and the love these people have for this little boy and each other. Its just amazing. What an incredible family-I'm proud to know them.

Get well Charlie-we are praying for you.

April, how in the world do you run ten miles in one day? I don't even run ten miles in one year! You are amazing. But I swear you didn't like to run back in the day, so what happened? You are still so sweet too...no wonder I always admired you and still do.
